Rules & NOR for the Otago Summer Series (Bic & Opti)

Points Systems & Key Rules:

If more than one race is scheduled or completed for each race in the series (Principle day) then the overall placings of that day/event will be used for the OOSS result, this means we get more races completed and keeps the scoring system simple.

If you do not compete (DNC) you will receive total number boats entered in series plus 1. If you start the race but do not finish, you will receive last place only (DNF) rather than penalise a competitor because they could not finish.

Competitors that enter the series part way through will score DNC for all prior races in the series. (Total entries plus one).

The OOSS series leader will be required to wear a unique top that identifies them as being the series leader for each race.

All other competitors will have the option to wear one of the OOSS generic sponsored top each race day.

4 races are required to be completed to constitute a series.

When fewer than 4 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of their race scores.

When from 4 to 7 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of their race scores excluding their worst score.

PENALTY SYSTEM: Competitors shall perform a 360 turn

A condition of this sponsored free series is you must wear these rash tops or be automatically disqualified for each race you do not have it on.
