Training Courses - Temporary Traffic Management & Road Safety

- Dunedin the last week of each month
- Invercargill the first week of each month
- KCTL kerbside course on request
- South Island courses any location
   ‚Äčon request (can run at your premises)
- Christchurch course on request


Tuesday & Wednesday: 2 day STMS courses
Thursday: TC courses
Friday: Refresher courses

Please note that once you have completed the courses below, we send your registration forms away to NZTA, who then process your ID cards (not us). The minimum processing time is approx 3-4 weeks and during peak periods this can take up to 2 months so please be patient. For documentation and TMP's you are current from date you attended the course with us, on your paper work make note of the date you attended the course and trainer name (and your ID number always remains the same from TC - STMS and Refresher courses).

STMS (Site Traffic Management Supervisor) 2 day Course

This course is for qualified TC's and must be current (not expired). Check date displayed on your ID card.
Note there is a one month stand down between completing the TC course and this STMS course.
You may also attend this course if you have held an STMS qualification any time in the past (regardless if it has expired or not).

Traffic Controller (TC) 1 day Course

No previous training required to attend this TC course. Course covers basic introduction to temporary traffic management. NOTE there is a 1 month stand down before you can attend the STMS course.

Refresher (TC & STMS combined) 1 day Course

Please note that this is a combined course for qualified TC’s and STMS only. You can refresh your staff regardless if they are a TC or STMS and as long as each person has already attended the corresponding full 1 day TC Course or 2 day STMS course.
Your current qualification must not be expired for more than 1 year, please check your ID cards for expiry dates. You cannot attend the Refresher course as substitute for a full TC or STMS course.

KCTL Courses - Kerbside Collection Traffic Leader - training course

Basic summary: this course is specific to the kerbside collection industry (note at least one person in your organisation will need a current STMS qualification in addition to the KCTL qualified staff).
 

ConstructSafe Tests

Basic summary: this is an initiative by the Construction Safety Council, designed to provide a national standard for health and safety competency for the construction industry. This is not a course where the information is taught, it is only a test to assess the candidate's level of knowledge.

Why do you need a Traffic Management Plan?

Please read attendance information & minimum requirements before booking and attending courses.

 

Attendance Information:

  • Free morning tea & lunch provided and a copy of the Code of Practice (COPTTM) on CD.
  • Your current qualification must not be expired for more than 1 year, please check your ID cards for expiry dates.
  • Bring your NZTA - ID card or ID Number along to the course.
  • NZTA registration fees for ID cards are an additional $40 plus GST.
  • If you own a copy of the Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management (COPTTM) please bring it along, if you don’t own a copy then please bring along a laptop.
  • Cancellations received less than 5 working days prior to programme commencement will be charged full attendance fee or an enrolee may transfer once to the next available programme.
  • Please note that all course fees must be paid in advance to secure your booking, payments are to be made within 5 working days before the course commences.
  • Bookings should be emailed to train@trafficmanagementltd.co.nz and include the following information: Organisations name, Order number (if applicable), Billing Details (bank A/C no'), Attendees names, Contact numbers, NZTA ID card numbers (if applicable).
